2010s: Our cornerstone for the future
We’re only halfway there, but…
We’ve only just reached the end of 2016, but this decade has already been pretty action-packed: on again off again carbon taxes, increases to superannuation, climate change, digital and high definition television, multiple leadership spills in our government and the Australian dollar’s roller coaster ride against the USD.
Pop culture gets nostalgic
Fashion so far this decade has been defined by a revival of austerity-era period pieces and hipster fashion, including a trend for men sporting facial hair – this time by way of the much-buzzed-about beard and more recently the ‘man-bun’, and neon colours reminiscent of the 1980s with many designers replicating vintage clothing.
At the cinema, we’ve been exposed to Transformers, American Snipers and played a few Hunger Games and, musically, Pharrell Williams assures us we’re ‘Happy’.
A big few years for Bayside
Meanwhile, the Bayside Group established an IT recruitment brand, Alitis, in 2011. The brand was launched in response to client demand for IT professionals, and strengthened our position within the automotive recruitment space, acquiring two automotive recruitment firms. We’ve merged our automotive operations to become Australia’s number one automotive recruiter, and our OHS practices, designed for prevention, now carry 4801 certification.
A technological Golden Age
Technology advances and the introduction of new services have changed the way we work with employers most significantly. Our services to recruitment clients now incorporate workforce mapping, workforce management solutions, tailored inductions, workplace relations, pre-employment programs and more.
Balpara has also reinvented itself in recent times, with strengthened capability in the electrical design space, and gaining ISO certification.
Great service now and into the future
With strong and consolidated customer relationships, many expanding in excess of twenty years, we’ve been recognised across several Client Service Excellence awards from both our customers and the recruitment industry’s peak body the RCSA.
A long way from that modest drafting service in the bungalow in Frankston, we have enjoyed success far beyond what we dreamed when the Bayside Group launched 40 years ago. We have infiltrated market sectors and industries which have allowed us to partner with a diverse client base, proudly many of whom we continue to work with today.
