Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out duties as directed by the Production Manager and/or Production Coordinator as per the SOP.
  • Ensure Pre-Production checklist and Product Specifications are signed off and followed.
  • Ensure line staff are completing paper work as required and collating and filing paper work at the end of shift or production run.
  • Perform wine change-overs & filler sterilisations.
  • Responsible for the safe, effective Supervision of bottling and packaging production.
  • Monitor bottling line productivity and suggest improvements.
  • Report on workplace injuries and assist in monitoring & resolving WorkSafe issues.
  • Support the HACCP Food Safety system by recognising, solving or reporting defects and problems as they arise.
  • Support and maintain compliance with OH&S Policy and take responsibility for solving or reporting workplace hazards.
  • Investigate (and liaison with Quality/OH&S Manager) Quality issues with finished goods and packaging material.
  • Wear and enforce required safety clothing and equipment.
  • Follow and enforce good manufacturing practice at all times.
  • Ensure appropriate housekeeping standards.
  • Co-ordinate new product requests, trial and supervision.
  • Manage packaging research and development.
  • Train new operators and complete training checklists.
  • Organise personnel for work duties.

To be considered for this position:

  • Proven previous leading hand or supervisory experience, preferably within the wine industry or similar industries
  • Formal qualifications & experience in Wine Industry Operations, Food Processing, or similar (preffered).
  • Previous experience performing wine changovers and filler sterilisation.
  • Previous experience operating typical bottling/packaging machinery, such as, fillers, labellers, depalitisers, cappers, crowners, hooders, robots & wrappers.
  • Forklift licence and experience moving glass bottles with a forklift.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Team oriented & Target driven with strong attention to detail.
  • OH&S conscious
  • Motivated & Reliable with the ability to work shift work and hours as required for the role, including weekend work.
