A leading engineering consulting business is seeking an experienced General Manager – PNG & Pacific to lead its operations across Papua New Guinea and the wider Pacific region. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a driven professional with a strong technical background and proven management expertise.
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you will oversee the performance of the PNG office, managing staff, clients, and projects across multiple disciplines. You will ensure the safe, efficient, and commercially successful delivery of engineering projects, while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships and driving business growth in the region.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to drive high-performing teams and deliver projects to the highest technical and professional standards.
• Oversee project delivery, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality expectations are met.
• Manage client relationships, stakeholder engagement, and business development activities.
• Lead resource allocation, mentoring, and professional development of staff.
• Contribute technical input into engineering design and reporting.
• Drive commercial outcomes through sound financial management and growth strategies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline.
• 15+ years’ engineering experience, with at least 10 years in senior management roles.
• Proven experience in the PNG market with exposure to a broad range of engineering challenges.
• Registration with IEPNG (or ability to obtain).
• Strong commercial acumen, leadership skills, and ability to foster effective networks with clients, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
