Our client is in a significant growth phase, and they are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join there Brisbane team.
About The Role
The Geotechnical Engineer will spend a significant amount of time in the office working collaboratively with team members and project stakeholders. They will work collaboratively with national Geotechnical Engineering resources to create opportunities, respond to project needs, and deliver multidisciplinary projects. They will perform geotechnical design and analysis for a range of projects, including but not limited to preparing desktop studies, investigation scope, geotechnical interpretation, design calculations, drawings, specifications and reports.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Plan, specify and manage site investigations and testing programs
- Collate and analyse field and test data, and carry out geotechnical analysis related to project design
- Liaise with Engineers, Clients and Project Management to develop project specific solutions
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports
- Deliver work packages assigned by project managers within agreed timeframes and to the desired quality
- Carry out research and investigations to develop a clear understanding of ground conditions at the project site
- Ensure all files and online documentation are kept updated and maintained to a high standard
- Minimum 5 Years post Graduate experience working for a Engineering Consulting business as a Geotechnical Engineer
- Working knowledge of GE design applications and software (eg: GINT, SlopeW, PILE, ADSEC, WALLOP or other approved software on the Queensland Transport Main Roads re-qualification list as an example), GIS, CAD software
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to determine priorities and meet concurrent project deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team to meet project goals and operational targets
- Ability to provide, receive and apply constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills
- Tertiary qualifications – Bachelor of Civil Engineering – ESSENTIAL
- Chartered Engineer (CPEng) or actively working towards formal qualification
- Engineers Australia (MIEAust) professional membership or actively working towards attainment
