Join a leading consultancy at the forefront of groundwater and environmental management. We’re looking for a Principal Hydrogeologist who brings deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and proven experience engaging with clients across complex, multidisciplinary projects.

About the Role
As a Principal Hydrogeologist, you'll act as a technical subject matter expert, delivering high-quality hydrogeological assessments, managing groundwater investigations, and guiding both clients and internal teams on best-practice solutions.
You will be a key interface between clients, regulators, and project teams—supporting the development of sustainable groundwater strategies for sectors such as mining, infrastructure, water resources, and environmental approvals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution of complex hydrogeological investigations and modelling
  • Provide expert technical guidance on groundwater assessment, dewatering, and contamination studies
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through direct engagement and strategic input
  • Contribute to and review high-quality technical reports and regulatory submissions
  • Mentor junior and mid-level hydrogeologists, fostering a culture of technical excellence
  • Support business development, proposals, and project scoping
About You
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in hydrogeology, ideally in consulting
  • Demonstrated expertise in groundwater modelling (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW) and field investigation
  • Proven track record managing client relationships and delivering high-value solutions
  • Strong report writing and verbal communication skills
  • Chartered/Registered Professional status highly regarded
