Laboratory Technician Inorganics Analyst

Our client is responsible for biological, chemical, legal, physical and trade measurement and seeks a Laboratory Technician/Analyst to prepare samples for trace elements and other inorganic analyses at their Inorganics Laboratory in Sydney's north west.   Duties include:

  • Sample preparation of environmental and food/biota samples to allow trace elements analysis using ICPMS/ICPOES and CV-AFS instruments.
  • Preparing batch QC samples as per their documented method and Quality manual.
  • Working within a team environment, prioritising work to achieve targeted turnaround times of results.
  • Undertaking laboratory equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Adhering to WH&S requirements and safety SOPs particular to the Inorganic laboratory.
Ideally you will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in science, ideally chemistry or biology.
  • Knowledge/experience with sample preparation for trace elements within an analytical or food testing laboratory.
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practice within a NATA accredited laboratory.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • The ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-driven.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be an Australian citizen and able to secure and maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
