Our client is a well-established civil contractor with over 30 years of demonstrated experience across civil and road development projects in Australia. They specialise in asphalt repairs, road maintenance and rehabilitation projects in Victoria and NSW, providing a high-quality service and working in partnership with other contractors, consultants and design partners. As a result of a growing demand with new projects they are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team initially on a 6 month contract basis.
In this role you will be responsible but not limited to:
- Develop and maintain project schedules, scoping from delivery commencement to completion
- Checking and approving work completed by the construction crews and subcontractors.
- Ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed, including daily site reports, progress reports, and quality assurance reports.
- Work closely with the Civil Manager and Operations Manager providing regular updates on and reports on projects, both informally and by running the project planning meetings.
- Ensure compliance to relevant Australian Standards.
- Ensure quality of work and client satisfaction with particular attention to safety and best work practices.
Ideally, we are seeking an engineer who can demonstrate the following:
- A sound and highly articulate communicator with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- A team player with the ability to work with other disciplines to attain the best solution collectively and with a strong “can do” attitude
- Knowledge and experience working within the asphalt industry with 2+ years experience
You must have:
- Bachelor of Civil engineering
- Experience in Project Planning or Management with local builder / contractor (essential)
- Full working rights in Australia (no visa sponsorship will be associated with this position)
- Current Driver’s licence
- Intermediate to Advanced level with MS Word & Excel
- Exposure to AutoCAD
