They are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join their team in Orange, NSW. This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking to lead projects, mentor junior staff and provide high-level technical advice across a variety of ecological and town planning projects.

$100,000 - $113,000 base + Super (experience dependant)

As a Senior Ecologist, you'll support the Principal Ecologist and Town Planning team by:
- Delivering technical ecological interpretation and advice across diverse projects
- Leading fieldwork programs, reporting, and client liaison
- Mentoring and supervising ecologists and subcontracted technicians
- Applying your deep knowledge of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and biodiversity policies
- The role requires you to work-on-site full-time, with the occasional flexibility.
- Provide expert ecological advice and input across town planning and environmental projects
- Manage and deliver projects on time and within budget
- Lead project reporting, contract negotiations, invoicing and performance assessments
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
- Prepare fee proposals, manage subcontractor accounts and monitor project financials
- Promote the company’s environmental capabilities and contribute to business development
- Ensure compliance with environmental policies, standards and procedures
- Supervise and mentor team members and support their professional development
- Extensive experience working with a wide range of environmental planning projects with 5-10 years experience in a Senior Ecological role
- Minimum bachelor's degree in relevant field and BAM accreditation
- Current Drivers Licence as there is occasional field work
- A recognised technical expert in ecological management and deep understanding of State and Commonwealth environmental legislation and policy
- Excellent stakeholder communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong project management skills, with a focus on quality and delivery
- Meticulous attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
