Working in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory, you will be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality analysis across environmental samples such as water, soil, food, and pharmaceuticals. Your work will support national priorities and real-world outcomes in environmental health, food safety and regulatory compliance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Undertake the extraction and analysis of organic semivolatile and volatile contaminants in environmental samples.
- Operate, troubleshoot and maintain advanced analytical instrumentation, including GC, GCMS and LC.
- Validate data and ensure results meet strict QA/QC standards in a NATA-accredited environment.
- Contribute to projects that directly impact environmental protection, food safety and public health.

- A tertiary qualification in Chemistry (or equivalent scientific discipline) with at least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience extracting and analysing environmental samples for organic contaminants using GC or LC instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of environmental sample extraction techniques and instrument troubleshooting.
- Proven ability to work within a NATA-accredited laboratory environment.
- Adherence to Quality Management System ISO9000/17025/17034.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, client-focused setting.
- A collaborative approach, with the initiative and judgement to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and professional standards of conduct.
- Australian Citizenship at time of application.
- Must be able to pass and maintain a baseline security clearance.
