Our client is an established Australian company with a long history of successfully supporting the growth and development of local industry. Operating from their modern office in Melbourne, they manage and maintain a range of transport and civil infrastructure including rail, signaling & CSR, roads, drainage, and some commercial/industrial buildings.
They have an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with demonstrated asset management and risk management experience to join their small team as an Asset Strategy Engineer, supporting the creation and maintenance of asset risk, governance, assurance and engineering strategies across a major infrastructure portfolio.
About the Role:
This role ensures Asset Management Plans, Engineering Strategies and Risk Registers remain current, aligned, and integrated to support risk-informed investment and long-term asset planning.
Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders, this position will assist with strategic lifecycle modelling, forward look condition assessment & monitoring programs, and support the development of innovation initiatives, concept justification, cost-benefit analysis, and project scopes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update Asset Management Plans (AMPs)
- Support development of Engineering Strategies
- Manage asset and operational risk registers
- Apply risk-based decision-making to asset planning and capital investment
- Provide governance and assurance support
- Provide specialist support for Electrical and Rail compliance monitoring and high-level technical expertise across major and growth projects.
- Coordinate across internal stakeholders and consultants
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in asset management, strategy, risk or infrastructure compliance
- Knowledge of ISO 55000 principles and asset management frameworks
- Strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Exposure to electrical, rail or infrastructure compliance (desirable)
- Experience with tools such as Excel, Power BI, TechnologyOne (desirable)
