Full-time, permanent
Our client is a specialist engineering business delivering complex BMS and optimisation projects across healthcare and other critical environments. They are seeking a BMS / Niagara Engineer who is technically strong and looking to move beyond standard service or project work into system-level engineering, integration and optimisation.
This is not a typical BMS role. It will suit someone who enjoys understanding how systems work end-to-end and improving them, not just maintaining them.
The Role
You will be working across a mix of project delivery, system optimisation and platform integration. In the immediate term, there are hospital BMS replacement projects ready to go.
In this role, you will:
- Work alongside an experienced BMS engineer on delivery
- Review system design, sequences of operation and control logic
- Support and guide commissioning in live environments
- Contribute to achieving consistent, high-quality outcomes
Duties include:
- Optimising legacy BMS systems and identifying performance issues
- Using tools such as SkySpark and Node-RED to improve system efficiency
- Supporting how BMS data is extracted from Niagara/controllers and integrated into a cloud-based platform
- Working with IoT and software teams on system structure, data flow and scalability
- Contributing to OT / BMS cybersecurity, including network structure and segmentation
- Supporting technical discussions and contributing to solution design
- Improving documentation, commissioning standards and engineering consistency
- Carrying out hands-on work where required, including Niagara programming, graphics and commissioning support
What We’re Looking For
This role suits someone with solid BMS experience who can operate beyond basic service work and take ownership across systems and projects.
Ideally you will have:
- Hands-on Tridium Niagara experience (N4 or AX)
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies
- Experience with commissioning and project delivery
- Exposure to system integration (BACnet essential, Modbus desirable)
- Ability to review and improve system logic, sequences and performance
- Be comfortable working in live / retrofit environments
- Be able to think at a system level, not just task level
- Be confident working with clients and internal teams
- Have an interest in integration, optimisation or platform-based work
This role is not suited to candidates who are:
- Focused purely on service and maintenance
- Limited to basic fault finding without understanding systems end-to-end
The Opportunity
- Work on complex environments including hospitals
- Get exposure to modern tools, platforms and system integration
- Step into a role with broader technical scope and responsibility
- Be part of improving how systems are delivered and optimised
