We are currently seeking an experienced Client Account Manager / Bookkeeper to join a growing team based in Port Melbourne.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can hit the ground running, confidently manage their own portfolio of clients, and take ownership of their bookkeeping from end to end.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing the bookkeeping and financial administration for a portfolio of approximately 10–12 clients, ensuring their accounts are accurate, up to date and well maintained.
Your responsibilities will include:
- End-to-end bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Managing a portfolio of approximately 10–12 clients
- Bank reconciliations and transaction processing
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Payroll and superannuation processing
- BAS preparation and lodgement support
- Month-end processing and reporting
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Reviewing financial reports and understanding what the numbers are telling you
- Identifying discrepancies, issues and areas requiring attention
- Communicating directly with clients and managing their day-to-day bookkeeping requirements
- Managing deadlines across multiple clients and prioritising competing requirements
We are looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who is confident working independently and can step into the role with minimal training.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping or client accounting environment
- Strong end-to-end bookkeeping experience
- Experience managing multiple clients or entities
- The ability to confidently manage a portfolio of approximately 10–12 clients
- The ability to read and interpret financial reports
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities
- Strong experience with accounting software such as Xero
