Due to growth, a new opportunity has arisen for a suitable HSEQ Specialist to join a reputable industry body in the electrical and communications contracting industry. 
Working in the Industry Liaison team and reporting directly to the Manager, Industry Liaison drawing on your existing knowledge of the electrotechnical industry, the HSEQ Manager plays a key role in supporting the company's commitment to workplace safety and compliance for its members and staff. This role ensures the company meets its legislative obligations under relevant OH&S and risk management frameworks and provides expert guidance to foster a proactive safety culture. The HSEQ Manager services several areas of the industry including technical, OH&S, member support and stakeholder liaison, along with a particular emphasis on electrical contracting, industry innovation and renewable energy fields.

QUALIFICATIONS AND LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
• Diploma or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
• A Grade electrician, or demonstrated understanding of the electrotechnology industry
• Construction Induction Card (White Card).
• First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certification.
• Valid Victorian Driver’s License.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in OH&S roles, ideally in a member-based or service organisation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004, OHS Regulations 2017, WHS Act 2011,
   and ISO 31000, other relevant legislation and standards
• Excellent interpersonal, consultation, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to identify safety risks and develop strategic mitigation plans.
• Ability to work with groups of members and staff to develop health and safety improvement strategies.
• Experience in delivering training and facilitating group safety initiatives.
• Ability to review incidents and make recommendations for preventative action
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related database systems.
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply it in practical workplace contexts.
• Familiarity with managing psychosocial risk.
