Mechanical Design Engineer | Mechanical Designer | Product Design

Are you a Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer or Product Design professional who enjoys creating practical, real-world solutions?

Based in Meadowbrook, you'll become part of a close-knit Queensland team whilst collaborating with experienced colleagues across a larger national operation. With exposure to product development, manufacturing, fabrication and project delivery, this role offers far more variety than a traditional design office position.

Working closely with Project Managers and technical teams, you'll play an important role in the design, development and delivery of a broad range of engineered products and solutions. Projects span areas including:
  • Water management systems
  • Vacuum drainage systems
  • Fabricated equipment and assemblies
  • Commercial plumbing products
  • Custom-designed industrial solutions
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and modify 3D models, assemblies and components using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Produce detailed engineering and workshop-ready fabrication drawings.
  • Assist with product development and design improvements.
  • Prepare technical documentation, specifications and supporting information.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to deliver practical and commercially viable solutions.
  • Liaise with manufacturing and operational teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Participate in design reviews, project meetings and technical discussions.
  • Assist with site inspections and commissioning activities when required.

To be successful, you will ideally possess:
  • Degree qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD platforms.
  • Strong 3D modelling and technical drawing capability.
  • Experience producing fabrication or manufacturing drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • A practical and collaborative approach to engineering and design.
Experience within water management, vacuum drainage, manufacturing, fabrication or industrial equipment environments will be highly regarded, however candidates with strong design capability from adjacent industries are also encouraged to apply.
