Payroll Officer - Contract

A well-established and highly regarded girls secondary college located in Melbourne’s bayside suburbs is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team on a 7-week temporary assignment. You will be working PT three days a week 8am-4pm.

This role will suit a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is confident managing end-to-end payroll functions within a complex organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process fortnightly payroll in line with relevant agreements and STP requirements
  • Manage salary variations, leave loading, allowances and staff leave records
  • Reconcile superannuation and payroll general ledger accounts
  • Process salary sacrifice and electronic payroll payments
  • Support end-of-year payroll reporting and compliance requirements
  • Assist with payroll calculations, contract variations and staff queries
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and banking providers as required
About You
  • Previous payroll experience in education sector
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance and payroll reconciliation processes
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and work autonomously
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience within education or not-for-profit environments will be highly regarded
