PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST
Our client is a global Renewable Energy leader, manufacturer of oil and lubricants for the automotive and industrial applications industries.
A rare opportunity has arisen for a PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST to join the team based at their Perth Kwinana office – to support the end-to-end procurement process for goods and services at our client’s Kwinana Energy Hub, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, while delivering value through effective sourcing, contract management, and supplier engagement
ROLE SYNOPSIS
The Procurement Coordinator will play a pivotal role within Technology Procurement – Operations, focusing on driving efficient and effective procurement processes at our client’s Kwinana Energy Hub
This role is responsible for supporting the execution of procurement strategies, objectives, and key performance metrics by developing and implementing robust plans tailored to both site-specific needs and industry best practices
Actively participating in the delivery of procurement activities, the Procurement Coordinator will ensure consistent application of procurement standards and the integration of best practices across the organization
With a solid background in contracts, procurement, and change management, the Procurement Coordinator possesses the expertise to oversee all aspects of the procurement workload, staying connected with both internal stakeholders and the wider industry through forums and events.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Functional Knowledge
- Demonstrates a sound working knowledge of procurement processes and practices in day-to-day activities
- Has a developing understanding of Technology Procurement – Operations and can apply this knowledge to support procurement objectives within a complex organisation
- Effectively collaborates with peers and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in procurement activities
- Maintains awareness of industry best practices and proactively seeks opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
- Represents company professionally in all external interactions related to procurement and ensures compliance with governance and regulatory requirements, including Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) standards
Business Expertise:
- Has two - three years’ experience working in contracts and procurement roles within large, complex, or multinational business environments
- Demonstrates the ability to support and contribute to cross-functional projects, working collaboratively with diverse teams to achieve shared goals
- Brings a practical understanding of how procurement activities integrate with broader business objectives and supports initiatives that drive value and efficiency
Leadership:
- Works collaboratively across procurement functions with an end-to-end mindset, contributing to the achievement of procurement KPIs and OKRs through assigned activities
- Has experience working in diverse teams and applies flexible, solutions-focused approaches to problem-solving
- Consistently models companies Code of Conduct and Operating Management System (OMS) principles in daily work, supporting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
Problem Solving:
- Applies analytical thinking to develop and help implement practical solutions to procurement challenges
- Shares learnings and supports the continuous improvement of team performance
- Assists in identifying market solutions that align with procurement needs, evaluates proposed solutions, and contributes to risk management activities
- Helps translate strategic procurement requirements into actionable plans that align with companies’ overall strategy
Interpersonal Skills:
- Builds and maintains effective stakeholder relationships, supporting change adoption and fostering collaboration
- Gains exposure to supplier interactions and external representation, developing negotiation and communication skills

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Experience working in procurement within the energy, industrial, or technology sectors
- Familiarity with procurement systems and tools, such as SAP and Ariba
- Experience supporting contract negotiations and supplier performance reviews
- Active participation in procurement-related forums, working groups, or industry events
- Certification or training in procurement (e.g., CIPS Level 2–4, ISO standards, Lean Six Sigma) is advantageous
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and digital transformation in procurement
- Ability to work effectively in cross-cultural or geographically dispersed teams
- Strong written communication skills for documentation, reporting, and stakeholder updates
- Tertiary qualification in a field related to procurement, supply chain, business, or finance is preferred but not essential
- Equivalent relevant professional experience in procurement or related disciplines will be considered in lieu of formal education

- A 12 - month contract position that supports Global organization with Australian presence – possible extension
