The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Production / Reliability Engineer to take ownership of their end‑to‑end eucalyptus distillery operation—from mulch receival through to final oil storage.
This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role where you’ll build and stabilise processes, establish maintenance systems, and lead the reliability and performance of a unique, specialised facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and stabilise boiler and distillation processes
- Create and maintain SOPs, risk controls and safe overnight boiler operations
- Establish and manage asset maintenance systems and schedules
- Lead contractors and oversee preventative and reactive maintenance
- Drive production KPIs, yield, throughput and cost performance
- Apply Lean methodologies to reduce downtime and waste
- Ensure full HSE compliance across all operations
- Proven experience building reliable processes (not just maintaining them)
- Strong background in reliability, production or maintenance engineering
- Experience setting up maintenance systems and managing contractors
- Solid knowledge of PLCs, HMIs and automation systems
- Excellent troubleshooting skills across mechanical and control systems
- Safety‑focused, practical and comfortable being hands‑on
