We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist with expertise in mass spectrometry (GCMS triple quad and/or LCMS) to join a leading Australian government laboratory conducting cutting-edge anti-doping research and testing for elite sport.

In this position, you will design, validate, and optimise innovative analytical methods for biological samples, ensuring results meet strict international standards. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot GCMSMS, LCMSMS, and LC-qHRMS instrumentation, perform statistical data analysis, and support high-profile research projects from concept to publication. You will contribute to scientific reports, present findings at internal and external forums, and advance anti-doping science at a global level.
Essential Requirements:
- PhD, Masters or Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, or a related field, with 5+ years’ experience in mass spectrometry research;
- Demonstrated expertise in method development, data interpretation, and instrument maintenance;
- Experience with ISO 17025 systems and statistical software;
- Must be an Australian citizen at time of application and able to obtain/maintain a Baseline Security Clearance.
