Our client is a long standing and well established engineering consultancy that is well known for their high quality development and commercial projects across Queensland, and by extension, through their multiple offices, the Australian Market.
With a strong workflow and continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their Brisbane team and play a key role in delivering urban development projects.
This is a perfect role for an engineer with active design capabilities, looking to step into larger project ownership, mentoring juniors and working closely with clients to deliver practical, well designed outcomes.
The Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of civil design for a range of urban development projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial developments and industrial estates.
You will be involved across the full project lifecycle from concept through to detail design and overseeing the construction documentation. The role requires a strong technical background in civil design, particularly using 12D, with the ability to guide design outcomes and support engineers / designers within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Delivery of Civil Design Packages for Urban Development Projects.
- Undertake and review Civil Design using 12D, including earthworks, road design and stormwater drainage.
- Prepare and review civil drawings, reports and technical documentation.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets and deliverables.
- Coordinate with the internal team, external clients and stakeholders.
- Assist with tender submissions, proposals and fee estimates.
- Mentor and guide graduate engineers and designers
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards and local council requirements.
You are a technically capable civil engineer who is versed with hands on design work, while also taking on responsibility for project delivery and mentoring others.
What the role needs:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Approximately 6-12 years of consultancy experience
- Strong background in urban development, subdivision and drainage design
- Advanced proficiency in 12d, with previous hands on design experience
- Experience using AutoCAD for civil documentation
- Flood modelling experience with TUFLOW or HEC-RAS is highly regarded.
- Solid understanding of SEQ council standards and Australian Design Standards
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage projects while contributing to technical design
- RPEQ registration (or working towards it) is highly desirable
- Work on diverse urban development projects across South East Queensland
