Senior Mechanical Designer / Lead Draftsperson – Eagle Farm
We’re looking for a Mechanical Design “Jedi” - someone who can think, design, draw and solve problems quickly, accurately and practically.
Our client is a well-established Queensland-owned engineering and manufacturing business with a strong project pipeline across industrial, mining and specialised mechanical equipment.
This is a hands-on role within a small, experienced team. The work is varied and fast-moving, with a strong focus on one-off and customised components where drawings need to be turned around quickly and the designer works closely with the workshop to get things built right.
We’re looking for someone who:
• Is highly proficient in SolidWorks
• Has strong mechanical design experience in manufacturing/fabrication
• Can produce accurate manufacturing drawings, assemblies and BOMs at pace
• Understands Australian Standards and what makes a design practical and buildable
• Thrives in a fast-paced, jobbing-shop environment where priorities can change quickly
• Enjoys working directly with workshop teams and solving problems on the floor
• Has exposure to 3D scanning, point clouds or reverse engineering (highly regarded)
