Senior Workplace/Industrial Relations Consultant

The Opportunity.
As a Senior Workplace/Industrial Relations Consultant, you will work directly with business owners, executives and employee representatives across the electrotechnology, construction and trade industries.
You’ll be trusted as a senior adviser on complex industrial matters while also playing a meaningful role in the growth of a specialist consultancy in its early stages. This role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to high level work, and the opportunity to help shape service offerings, client relationships and internal processes.

In this senior role, you will:
  • Act as a first point of contact for advice on workplace relations legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and industrial instruments.
  • Develop, negotiate, renew and terminate Enterprise Agreements and collective contracts.
  • Facilitate negotiations with unions and resolve disputes and grievances.
  • Represent and guide employers through Fair Work Commission matters, including unfair dismissal claims and conciliations.
  • Conduct underpayment calculations and support resolution.
  • Provide proactive advice to mitigate industrial risk.
  • Support restructuring, redundancies, transfers of business and other change initiatives.
  • Develop and implement workplace relations policies, procedures and training.
What We’re Looking For.
  • You will be a confident, credible and pragmatic Workplace Relations professional with:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a workplace or industrial relations environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and Fair Work Commission proceedings.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A practical mindset and the ability to balance compliance, commercial realities and people outcomes.
