Our client is a small and expanding start up comprised of highly experienced professionals with decades of specialist experience working with Australian businesses in trade, industry bodies and regulatory authorities. This role provides an opportunity to work with and be mentored directly by the business owners, and the chance to shape the future of the business and influence the industry it serves. 

The Role: 
As a Senior Workplace/Industrial Relations Consultant, you will work directly with business owners, executives and employee representatives across the electrotechnology, construction and trade industries. 

You’ll be trusted as a senior adviser on complex industrial matters while also playing a meaningful role in the growth of a specialist consultancy in its early stages. This role offers genuine autonomy, exposure to high?level work, and the opportunity to help shape service offerings, client relationships and internal processes. 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Act as a first point of contact for advice on workplace relations legislation, Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and industrial instruments.
  • Develop, negotiate, renew and terminate Enterprise Agreements and collective contracts. 
  • Facilitate negotiations with unions and resolve disputes and grievances. 
  • Represent and guide employers through Fair Work Commission matters, including unfair dismissal claims and conciliations. 
  • Support restructuring, redundancies, transfers of business and other change initiatives. 
  • Develop and implement workplace relations policies, procedures and training. 
About You: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards and Fair Work Commission proceedings.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • A practical mindset and the ability to balance compliance, commercial realities and people outcomes.
