About the Opportunity
We are partnering with an established and growing engineering consultancy delivering a diverse range of building and structural projects across Australia. With experienced senior engineers and directors close to the work, you will be supported to take real ownership and make practical, design-led decisions.
This opportunity suits a structural engineer who enjoys hands-on design and variety, and who wants to be trusted to run their own packages from concept through to construction support. You will work across commercial, residential and industrial structures, with the chance to broaden into selected infrastructure and smaller bridge projects (beneficial, not essential).
Based in Melbourne CBD or Brisbane CBD, this role offers strong career progression for someone around the 5 to 7+ year level who is ready for more autonomy and client-facing responsibility.
About the Role
You will deliver structural designs and documentation across multiple materials and building types, working closely with senior engineers and project stakeholders.
- Lead structural design from concept to documentation
- Design steel, concrete, timber, precast and masonry elements
- Produce calculations, reports and design documentation
- Coordinate with clients, architects, builders and consultants
- Provide construction support, including RFIs
- Complete site inspections as required
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 5 to 7+ years structural engineering experience
- Australian consulting and building experience
- Strong design skills across common building materials
- Structural analysis/design software and AutoCAD experience
