The primary focus of this role will be design for custom and boutique light steel structures across residential and light commercial applications, and assisting with the development of new products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Structural analysis and design of light steel structures, including portal frames.
- New product design and development, including prototyping and refinement.
- Engineering design for custom/boutique projects.
- Design of slabs, footings, and retaining walls.
- Preparing production-ready drawings (drafting & detailing).
- Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
- Liaison with internal team members and external stakeholders as required.
- Proficient in SpaceGass and AutoCAD.
- Strong fundamentals in steel portal frame design.
- Solid working knowledge of Australian Standards.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a small team.
- Hold or be eligible for RPEV or equivalent registration.
- Experience in the shed, kit home, light commercial, or pre-engineered building industries.
- Experience designing retaining walls and slabs.
- Strong drafting capability with attention to construction-ready documentation.
