Structural / Forensic Engineer – $100,000 – $140,000 + Super – Work from Home (Brisbane or QLD Regional)

My client is a well-established and growing engineering consultancy operating across Queensland, specialising in structural assessments and forensic engineering investigations. Their work supports homeowners, insurers, and other stakeholders—often following events such as storms, floods, earthquakes, or other structural damage incidents.

About the role
This position focuses on forensic investigations  and structural assessments to determine the cause, extent, and remediation requirements of damage.
This role would suit an engineer with a strong understanding of structural engineering design, a willingness to travel, and who can produce highly accurate, code-compliant reports and clearly communicate findings.
These reports often form part of insurance claims and may be presented in legal proceedings, so the role requires both technical precision and the ability to explain complex concepts to a variety of audiences, including in a courtroom setting if required.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct inspections in both metropolitan locations, and regional locations as required.
  • Investigate and analyse failures across residential, commercial, and industrial structures.
  • Prepare detailed written reports documenting the cause of distress or failure, the extent of loss, and recommended remediation measures including reports for litigation.
  • Liaise with homeowners, insurers, builders, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist design team where appropriate in providing technical expertise on complex projects
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ( RPEQ or CPEng preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years’ structural engineering experience with a strong background in remediation or forensics.
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian building codes and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with insurance companies or legal teams.
  • Valid Unrestricted Australian Drivers License.

What’s on offer
  • Flexibility to work from home in Brisbane or a regional QLD location.
  • Varied and challenging projects with tangible real-world impact.
  • Career growth potential, including the opportunity to take on a lead role.

If you are a detail-driven engineer who enjoys investigative work, thrives on variety, and is as confident on site as you are at your desk, this role offers the autonomy, challenge, and career progression you’re looking for.
