Our client is a large, complex organisation undertaking a significant enterprise remediation review focused on strengthening how findings, corrective actions and remediation activities are analysed, prioritised and resolved.
The program will focus on identifying systemic issues, improving remediation effectiveness and supporting sustainable, evidence-based outcomes across the organisation.
About the Role
Bayside Group is seeking up to three experienced Systemic Root Cause & Remediation Specialists to support an initial six-month enterprise remediation program.
The work will involve reviewing a complex portfolio of corrective actions, findings, incidents and audit observations to identify recurring themes, systemic contributors and underlying control weaknesses.
Depending on your background, your focus may sit across portfolio and thematic analysis, systemic root cause analysis, remediation design, risk and controls, assurance, or evidence-based closure.
You will work through complex and sometimes incomplete information, determine whether existing remediation is addressing the underlying issue, and develop practical recommendations that support sustainable resolution.
This is not an administrative action-tracking, project management or IT incident management role. The focus is on understanding why issues are recurring, whether remediation is effective and what needs to change to reduce recurrence and strengthen controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyse portfolios of actions, findings, incidents and audit observations.
- Identify recurring themes, dependencies, duplication and systemic issues.
- Undertake root cause and causal analysis across organisational, operational, process, control and governance factors.
- Distinguish underlying causes from symptoms and short-term corrective actions.
- Assess whether existing or proposed remediation adequately addresses the underlying risk.
- Identify control weaknesses and opportunities to improve remediation effectiveness.
- Develop practical remediation pathways for priority issues and themes.
- Define appropriate closure criteria, evidence requirements and assurance expectations.
- Assess whether evidence demonstrates genuine resolution rather than simple completion of an action.
- Work with accountable owners and subject matter experts to test conclusions and validate recommendations.
- Present clear, evidence-based recommendations to senior and executive stakeholders.
About You
You will be an experienced remediation, risk, assurance or investigation professional who is comfortable working through ambiguity and making sense of complex or fragmented information.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Enterprise or regulatory remediation
- Internal audit
- Risk and assurance
- Governance, Risk and Compliance
- Operational risk and controls
- Quality management and CAPA
- Regulatory compliance
- Safety or incident investigation
- Operational excellence or business improvement
- Program recovery
You will ideally demonstrate:
- Experience investigating complex, recurring or systemic organisational issues.
- Strong analytical and pattern-recognition capability.
- Experience across remediation, risk, controls, assurance or issue management.
- Strong root cause or causal analysis capability.
- Experience reviewing, designing or challenging corrective and remediation actions.
- Understanding of control effectiveness, closure evidence and assurance.
- Ability to form defensible conclusions from incomplete or ambiguous information.
- Confidence engaging with and constructively challenging senior stakeholders.
- Strong written communication and the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations.
- Experience within a complex, regulated or highly governed environment.
