Celebrating our Team: Tracey Wright
Tracey Wright works closely with our recruitment and workplace relations teams to help us deliver exceptional service solutions.
She worked with us in a consulting capacity for many years, becoming crucial to the development and delivery of our service model. We finally convinced her to join the team permanently as a Business Development Specialist!
We asked Tracey about her journey with the company, and what she thinks makes us different.
Tell us about your career with us.
I came to Bayside Group to undertake an 8-week consulting role. That was 15 years ago, and I’m still here!
My initial brief was to support targeted marketing communications across a range of collateral and platforms. Across those early days, I quickly gained an understanding of the Group’s operations, the industries it supports and the breadth of capability across the business. What stood out immediately for me, was the genuine value our team delivers to clients and candidates alike.
I soon transitioned into a role centred on promoting the Group’s capabilities in response to client and industry approaches to market across a diverse range of sectors.
Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside client procurement leads and HR business partners, to develop tailored workforce solutions and establish working agreements that balance operational needs, delivery expectations and long-term partnership outcomes.
What do you think makes us different?
What continues to stand out to me is the strength and longevity of the relationships we build. To me, this reflects that our Group’s continued approach is more than about simply filling vacancies. Our teams are intentional in the way they engage, with service excellence and positive outcomes remaining at the centre of everything we do.
I’ve seen firsthand how closely our consultants partner with clients, taking the time to understand their operational objectives, workforce challenges and the drivers behind business performance. The focus is always on how our engagement can add value and support sustainable outcomes.
Similarly, is the commitment to candidates. I watch as consultants invest time and care to understanding a person’s skills, aspirations and career goals and align them with meaningful opportunities.
What changes have you witnessed over this time?
Over the past 15 years, I’ve witnessed significant change across workplaces and workforce management, within our own operations and that of our clients.
Compliance obligations have become more stringent, expectations around workplace safety and fair work practices have not only strengthened but anchored by positive duty obligations. There is now far greater awareness and focus on workplace gender equality, DEI and modern slavery risks within operations and supply chains. Importantly, organisations are recognising the tangible value that diverse perspectives and inclusive workplaces bring to innovation, creativity and growth.
What are the most rewarding aspects of your role?
The collaborative nature of my work, partnering closely with my colleagues, listening to clients, understanding challenges and working together to find practical, mutually beneficial solutions.
As my role has evolved with a stronger focus on business development, I continue to enjoy exploring new opportunities to add value, while also strengthening relationships with long standing clients with whom we’ve had the privilege of partnering for some decades.
What do tailored solutions look like?
Recruitment and workforce management is an interesting space, as no two clients or businesses are the same. Whilst we have a standard process, we are regularly working alongside our clients to customise and tailor our delivery to the nuances and needs of their specific operations.
This might involve partnering in workforce planning and forecasting to ensure we are ready to meet shifting labour requirements, delivering workplace psychosocial hazard training through our workplace relations specialists to support positive duty obligations, or developing strategies that strengthen and promote an employer value proposition to better position clients as employers of choice in competitive talent markets.
It’s often about working with clients to identify pain points and providing solutions to address them.
What has kept you working with the company?
I’ve been afforded great opportunities at Bayside by people who believed in my potential (maybe more than I did myself).
I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some incredibly talented colleagues and clients, and equally grateful to have been supported by strong and encouraging leaders along the way. Their guidance, trust and willingness to provide opportunities have played a significant role in my professional growth and the journey I’ve enjoyed across the past 15 years.
